Mahbuber Rahman Appointed Chittagong Council Admin

The government has appointed Mohammad Mahbuber Rahman Shamim, BNP's Chittagong Divisional Organizing Secretary, as the full-time administrator of the Chittagong District Council.

The Local Government Division issued a notification regarding the appointment on Sunday, July 19.

According to the notification, Mahbuber Rahman will serve until a new District Council is formed or further orders are issued, in accordance with Section 82A(1) of the District Council Act, 2000.

Under Section 82A(3) of the Act, he will exercise the full powers and perform the duties of the council chairman. He will also receive standard allowances and benefits as per government rules.
