The final admission deadline for the 2025-26 undergraduate programs across 20 GST general, science and technology universities has been extended to July 21 due to nationwide adverse weather conditions.

Currently, 420 seats remain vacant across the clustered institutions.

The GST admission committee made this decision during an emergency virtual meeting on Saturday (July 18) afternoon. Chaired by the committee convener and Islamic University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. AKM Matinur Rahman, the panel noted that severe weather had prevented many students from reaching their respective campuses in time to complete enrollment.

Most of the 420 vacant seats are at Barisal University and Patuakhali Science and Technology University. To ensure fairness and accommodate affected students, the committee agreed the deadline extension was necessary.

Regarding specific vacancies, Islamic University Acting Registrar Professor Dr. Manjurul Haque confirmed that 36 seats remain open at their institution—35 from the merit list and one from the quota system.

Candidates can now finalize their necessary paperwork and confirm their admissions within this extended timeframe.
