The Ministry of Liberation War Affairs has cancelled the gazettes of 39 people from Chittagong Division who were not injured in the July uprising but were listed as 'July fighters'. Of these, 29 are from Chittagong district. This information was given in a notification by the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs.

The notification stated that some July fighters were not injured, were not injured while involved in the movement and were not injured, and a notification has been issued to cancel their gazettes based on the recommendation of the district committee for cancellation of the gazettes as more than one gazette was published in the names of some of them.

The 29 people from Chittagong district whose gazettes were cancelled are - Class B Md. Sagar-Gazette number 328, Class C Abdullah Al Noman-Gazette number 469, Naeem Uddin Said-Gazette number 492, Moh. Shariful Islam-Gazette Number 515, Shahadat Iqraj Tahni-Gazette Number 521, Tahmina Iqram-Gazette Number 522, Mahibi Tajwar-Gazette Number 534, Jasim Uddin-Gazette Number 542, Md. Atiqul Islam-Gazette Number 552, Md. Yasin-Gazette Number 560, Arfatul Islam-Gazette Number 595, Farhad Alam-Gazette Number 601, Mohammad Sajjad Kabir Emran-Gazette Number 603, Muntasirul Haque Chowdhury Mamur-Gazette Number 616, Pawan Chandra Nath-Gazette Number 622, Mishkat Alam Riyad-Gazette Number 675, Md. Emran-Gazette No. 717, Mohammad Sagar-Gazette No. 768, Nurullah-Gazette No. 789, Mohammad Rafi-Gazette No. 799, Faisal Mohammad Shihab-Gazette No. 802, Moss. Ichnia Akhtar-Gazette No. 824, Md. Mainuddin-Gazette No. 825, Simon-Gazette No. 1973, Md. Arif-Gazette No. 1976, Russell-Gazette No. 1986, Ramzan Ali-Gazette No. 1987, Mahim Chowdhury-Gazette No. 1991, Rifat Bin Al-Gazette No. 1999.

The official gazette lists the number of martyrs in the July Uprising as 836 and the injured as 13,800. The 'July fighters' receive various government benefits including monthly honorarium. The seriously injured have been included in 'A' category, seriously injured in 'B' category and injured in 'C' category. The injured in the 'A' category are being given a monthly honorarium of 20,000 taka, those in the 'B' category 15,000 taka and those in the 'C' category 10,000 taka per month. In addition, the injured in the 'A' category will receive a one-time grant of 5 lakh taka, those in the 'B' category 3 lakh taka and those in the 'C' category 2 lakh taka. There is a project to provide flats in Mirpur, Dhaka for the injured. They will also receive lifetime honorarium, medical treatment, rehabilitation and other benefits.

The Ministry of Liberation War Affairs has said that legal action will be taken against those who were fraudulently registered as 'July fighters' and those who helped them register and illegally embezzled government funds.
