The Primary Merit Scholarship Examination-2025 has been held in Shantiganj, like the 12 upazilas of Sunamganj district, with the aim of improving the quality of primary education.

On Wednesday (October 29), at 11 am, Deputy Commissioner of Sunamganj Elias Mia inspected the examination activities at Rathpara Government Primary School in the upazila.

After the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner said that since the announcement of this examination, the sincerity and responsibility among the teachers in the school have increased. They have become more focused on teaching. Students are also now studying with concentration after returning home. Multiple model tests have been conducted in many schools so that students can do well in the main examination. He said, this is what we actually want, that children should be school-oriented. I believe that to change education, it has to be done from the beginning (primary), and that is primary education.

He also said that not only students but also teachers are being evaluated through this examination. The role of teachers is very important in improving the quality of the education system. Therefore, efforts are being made to maintain the teaching environment in schools by coordinating with the teachers. Regarding whether the examination will be held next year or not, he said, we have taken the initiative this year. If those who will be in charge in the future think that such an arrangement is effective, then it will definitely continue.
