Pedestrian Killed by Truck on Bhola-Char Fashion Highway

A 65-year-old pedestrian, Sirajul Islam Chowdhury, was killed after being struck by a brick-laden truck on the Bhola-Char Fashion regional highway on Tuesday evening.

The accident occurred around 8 pm near Taltoli Bazar in Alinagar Union. Sirajul Islam, a farmer and son of Abdar Ali Mal of Ward No. 7, was crossing the road after visiting the market when the truck from Bhola hit him. He died on the spot.

Locals seized the truck and blocked the highway in protest for about half an hour before police restored traffic. Bhola Sadar Model Police Station Sub-Inspector Md. Gofran confirmed that police arrived after being informed via 999 and normalized the situation.

The family of the deceased has decided not to file a case. The situation in the area is currently stable.
