Book Launch of “Mahajiboner Upakhyan” Held at Bangla Academy During Amar Ekushey Book Fair

A publication ceremony for the book “Mahajiboner Upakhyan”, written by author and journalist Sabrina Binte Shuvra, was held at the Bangla Academy’s Shamsur Rahman Auditorium on the occasion of the Amar Ekushey Book Fair.

The book was formally unveiled on Tuesday (March 10) at 3:00 pm in a colorful ceremony attended by distinguished guests and literary figures. The event was graced by State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed, MP, as the chief guest.

Among the special guests were Member of Parliament for Gopalganj-1 Selimuzzaman Selim, MP Dr. K. M. Babor, Director General of the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy poet Rezauddin Stalin, and Advisory Editor of the Dainik Shomoyer Alo Shayrul Kabir Khan, along with several other notable personalities.

Journalist and fiction writer Ehsan Mahmud presented a review and discussion on the book during the program. The ceremony was chaired by Dipanto Raihan, proprietor of Doshomik Prokashoni, the publishing house behind the book.

Speakers at the event described “Mahajiboner Upakhyan” as an important document of Bangladesh’s contemporary political history. They noted that the book carefully portrays the long political struggle, uncompromising leadership, sacrifices, and imprisonment of former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia. According to the speakers, the work is not merely a biography but also a valuable narrative of the country’s democratic movements.

Expressing her feelings, author Sabrina Binte Shuvra said that the indomitable political life and continuous struggle of Khaleda Zia deeply inspired her to write the book. She also expressed her sincere gratitude to the guests and readers who attended the event.

The book, published by Doshomik Prokashoni, is currently available at stall number 929 at the ongoing Amar Ekushey Book Fair.
