A meeting was held today at 6:30 pm between Bangla Academy Director General Professor Mohammad Azam and a delegation from the Bangladesh Publishers and Booksellers Association to determine the potential schedule for the Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2026.

The Association presented several proposals regarding the timing of next year's fair. The discussions reviewed various possible time slots, taking into account recommendations from state security agencies.

Considering the overall situation, particularly the timing of the upcoming national elections, the proposal to hold the book fair in February 2026 was considered the most realistic and practical option.

However, a definitive date has not yet been finalized. It was decided that the final schedule for the Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2026 will be announced only after the official date of the national election is declared.

The Bangla Academy is maintaining regular communication with higher government authorities and other concerned agencies to ensure the smooth organization of the event.
