7 Vehicles Fined for Noise Pollution in Kurigram, 10 Hydraulic Horns Seized

A mobile court drive against noise pollution was conducted on the Kurigram–Bhurungamari Road near Dharla Bridge in Kurigram Sadar Upazila, where seven vehicle drivers were fined for using illegal hydraulic horns.

During the operation, seven drivers were fined a total of Tk 3,500 in separate cases for violating the Bangladesh Environment Protection Act and the Noise Pollution (Control) Rules. The drivers were found using hydraulic horns that exceeded the permitted sound limit.

Officials also seized 10 hydraulic horns from different vehicles during the drive. The fines were collected immediately.

The mobile court was led by Executive Magistrate Saifuddin of the Kurigram District Administration. Assistant Director Rezaul Karim of the Department of Environment served as the prosecutor.

Members of the district police and other officials of the local administration assisted in the operation.

Officials from the Department of Environment said such drives will continue regularly to reduce noise pollution and protect public health and the environment.
