Phulbari Upazila in Dinajpur District celebrated National Disaster Preparedness Day on Monday, March 10, with a fire and earthquake drill, a rally, and a discussion meeting.

The program was organized by the Disaster Management Department under the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief in coordination with the Upazila Project Implementation Office.

Members of the Phulbari Fire Service Station demonstrated rescue and safety procedures during fires and earthquakes. Following the drill, participants joined a rally through key roads of the Upazila to raise awareness about disaster preparedness.

The discussion meeting was presided over by Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Ahmed Hasan, with remarks from Assistant Commissioner (Land) Samiul Islam. The session was moderated by Upazila Project Implementation Officer Mizanur Rahman.

Officials from various departments, teachers, and students attended the event. Speakers emphasized that public awareness and preparedness are key to minimizing the impact of natural disasters, and such drills provide realistic guidance for emergency situations.
