


An Islamic Genius and Qirat Competition for madrasa students was held in Ishwardi of Pabna District, organised by Khairul Group. The day-long event took place on Monday (March 9) at Swapnadwip Resort.
A total of 160 students from 10 madrasas participated in different categories of the competition. At the end of the event, 25 winners received prizes.
The chief judge of the competition was Hafez Qari Abdul Haque, president of the Huffazul Quran Foundation. Assistant judges included Belal Hossain Madani, director of Markazul Noor Cadet Madrasa in Faridpur, along with Abu Talha and Habibullah Belali.
At the prize-giving ceremony, Habibur Rahman Habib, convener of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) in Pabna district, attended as chief guest. The programme was chaired by Md Khairul Islam, managing director of Swapnadwip Resort, and moderated by Mufti Al Amin Khan.
Among others present were Mokhlesur Rahman, director of the Regional Agriculture and Pulses Research Center, former Salimpur Union Parishad chairman Atiar Rahman, Additional Superintendent of Police Pranab Kumar of Ishwardi Circle, and Ishwardi Police Station officer-in-charge Mominuzzaman.
Speaking at the event, Habibur Rahman Habib praised the initiative, saying such programmes encourage the younger generation to engage with religious learning and cultural values.
CEO of Khairul Group Munem Tajwar Ahin said madrasa students often get fewer opportunities to participate in academic competitions compared to general education students. The initiative aims to create more opportunities and recognition for madrasa learners.
The event concluded with an Iftar Mahfil and special prayers, attended by madrasa students, teachers, administrative officials, journalists and guests.
