Pran Company Driver Dies After Van Plunges into Ditch in Phulbari

A covered van driver for Pran Beverage Limited was killed on Friday afternoon after his vehicle veered off the road and crashed into a ditch in Phulbari, Dinajpur.

The accident took place on the Dinajpur-Gobindaganj Highway, directly in front of the Phulbari Upazila Fire Service Office.

The deceased has been identified as Md. Makhlesur Rahman, 36, son of Shahaj Uddin from Dinajpur Sadar Upazila.

According to police reports, Makhlesur was driving a goods-laden van toward Phulbari town. The accident occurred when he attempted to give way to another vehicle, losing control of the van in the process. The vehicle subsequently skidded off the highway and fell into a roadside ditch.

Fire service personnel and bystanders rescued Makhlesur in critical condition. He was rushed to the Phulbari Upazila Health Complex, where the attending physician declared him dead on arrival.

Abdul Latif, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Phulbari Police Station, confirmed the incident. "We are completing the necessary legal formalities before handing the body over to the family," the OC stated.
