


Even after surgery, the bullet could not be removed from the head of child Huzaifa Afnan. The doctors have withdrawn the decision to remove the bullet for now due to the risk, said Brigadier General Taslim Uddin, Director of Chittagong Medical College (CMC) Hospital.
He said that the child underwent surgery after being brought to the hospital. However, it was not possible to remove the bullet from his head. He has been kept in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Earlier, on Sunday (January 11) evening, bullet-injured Huzaifa was brought to CMC Hospital from Teknaf. He is a resident of Lambabil area of Hoaikyang Union in Teknaf Upazila of Cox's Bazar district and a third-grade student. He was injured in the gunfire fired by an armed terrorist group from Myanmar in the Hoaikyang Techchha Bridge area near the border.
Huzaifa's uncle Mohammad Ershad said, "There was gunfire across the border all night on Saturday. On Sunday morning, when my niece went out to play, a bullet entered her head from the side of her face."
