A formal handover and introduction meeting was held for the newly elected committee of Jhalakathi Press Club. The event was organized at the Press Club auditorium on Tuesday (January 6) evening.
The chief guest was Jhalakathi Deputy Commissioner Md. Momin Uddin. Special guests were Police Superintendent Md. Mizanur Rahman and Additional Deputy Commissioner Municipality Executive Md. Kawsar Hossain.
At the event, the outgoing committee's acting president Md. Al Amin Talukder handed over the responsibilities to the newly elected president Advocate Md. Akkas Sikder and general secretary Md. Mahamudur Rahman Parvez.
The newly elected president of the Press Club, Md. Akkas Sikder, said,
"I want to work with everyone to preserve the organization's tradition. The Press Club will be the foundation of impartial and professional journalism."
