Police in Bhurungamari, Kurigram district, successfully recovered a massive 9-foot-long python on Saturday (December 2) afternoon after it caused panic among local farmers in Kamatangaria and Bhashanipara villages.

The operation was led by Bhurungamari Circle ASP Muntasir Mamun Moon, who arrived quickly to cordon off the area and prevent curious onlookers from harming the snake. A local snake hunter assisted police in the safe capture near Baldia Bazar.

The python was officially handed over to the Kurigram Forest Department. Range Officer Md. Sadiqur Rahman confirmed receipt, stating the snake has been dispatched to the Rangpur Divisional Forest Department.
