The Bheramara Upazila Administration and Upazila Secondary Education Office of Kushtia organized the 54th Bangladesh National School, Madrasa and Technical Education Winter Sports Competition and National Education Week Award Distribution Ceremony and distributed sports equipment on Thursday at the Upazila Auditorium.

Bheramara Upazila Executive Officer Rafiqul Islam presided over the award and sports equipment distribution ceremony. Kushtia Deputy Commissioner and learned District Magistrate Iqbal Hossain was present as the chief guest. Kushtia Police Superintendent Mohammad Jasim Uddin, Bheramara Upazila Secondary Education Officer Faruk Ahmed and others were present as special guests. Jahangir Hossain Jewel Hattrick, Head of the Sports Department of Bheramara Government College, was selected as the best Rover Scouts teacher and received the award.

Kushtia Deputy Commissioner Iqbal Hossain said that teachers should study a lot before taking classes. Along with education, sports should also be given equal importance. Sports are the name of an emotion, the name of an endless love. Sports are not just entertainment, they are the most effective exercise to keep people's minds and bodies healthy.

Playing sports according to the rules and regulations builds discipline and morality in life. The lesson of accepting victory and defeat equally and preparing for the future can be learned through sports. Just as courage is needed to win, we also learn from this game to prepare for the next match without getting discouraged even if we lose. Sports should be promoted along with education.
