Mahmudul Hasan Joy added only two runs to his overnight score before being dismissed by Barry McCarthy, his 171 stands as the second-highest score by a Bangladeshi opener.
Najmul Hossain Shanto , The captain registered his eighth Test century and fourth as captain.
Mominul Haque fell early for 82. Shanto and Mushfiqur Rahim (23) put on a 79-run recovery stand. The acceleration came from Liton Das, who smashed a quick-fire 60 off 66 balls in a 98-run partnership with Shanto.
Left-arm spinner Matthew Humphreys was the standout bowler for Ireland, claiming his second Test five-wicket haul (5-170).
Facing a 301-run deficit, Ireland’s second innings quickly faltered, losing five wickets before the close of play, Pace bowler Nahid Rana drew first blood, cleaning up Cade Carmichael for 5 with a sharp inswinger. Paul Stirling provided brief respite, racing to 43 (7 fours), but was run out due to a fatal misjudgment while attempting a quick single.
