BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman alleged on Monday that conspiracies are ongoing to undermine the country's democracy.
Speaking virtually from London at the party's seven-day "Plan for Nation Building" program, organized to mark Victory Month at the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh in Dhaka, Rahman stressed that "There is no alternative to an elected democratic government to bring the country back to a normal course."
He claimed that despite other parties making various pledges, only the BNP is preparing a concrete plan to rebuild the nation.
Rahman issued a strong directive to all BNP leaders and activists, urging them to work for whichever candidate the party nominates in the upcoming parliamentary election. He emphasized the necessity of setting aside personal interests to ensure the victory of the party's electoral symbol, the "Sheaf of Paddy," for the sake of both the party and the country.
Should the BNP come to power, Rahman outlined several key initiatives of providing family cards to 50 lakh families in the initial phase, creating employment for one crore people and relaunching the canal-digging programme.
