The results of the Bangladesh Bar Council’s lawyer enrollment MCQ exam have been published, with 9,201 candidates successfully passing the first phase. The Bar Council released the official results on its website on Friday night (June 12).
According to Bar Council sources, a total of 37,080 candidates applied for the MCQ exam this year. The successful candidates are now eligible to sit for the next phase, which is the written examination.
To register as an advocate and practice in the country's subordinate courts, candidates must clear a rigorous three-step screening process: the MCQ exam, a written test, and a final oral examination (viva voce).
Under current rules, if a candidate passes the written exam but fails the oral test, they are allowed to appear directly for the oral exam up to three times without re-taking the preliminary tests. The Bar Council's Enrollment Committee oversees the entire examination process, policy formulation, and guidelines for incoming lawyers.
