Barrister Ruhul Quddus Appointed as 18th Attorney General

Senior Supreme Court lawyer Barrister Ruhul Quddus Kazal has been appointed as the 18th Attorney General of Bangladesh. The Law Ministry confirmed the decision on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, with an official notification expected shortly.

Barrister Kajal currently serves as a member of the Bangladesh Bar Council and holds a position on the BNP National Executive Committee.

An alumnus of the Dhaka University Law Department, Kajal joined the Supreme Court Bar Association in 1996 and later served as its Secretary. Notably, he also spent a portion of his early career working in journalism.
