Major General Abdul Motaleb Sazzad Mahmud, Director General (DG) of the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (Ansar-VDP), announced the force is fully prepared to deploy 600,000 members as the "first line of defence" for the 13th National Parliamentary Election.
The DG confirmed that, for the first time, Ansar will introduce a digital monitoring system to ensure neutrality and transparency in election duties. This new system will integrate members' NID numbers, QR codes, and service records into a software database, enabling the headquarters to conduct real-time tracking of their presence, efficiency, and behavior on duty.
The force has intensified its preparations with ongoing basic and advanced training, including refresher sessions focused on the code of conduct, polling center security, and crowd management. The deployment strategy prioritizes youth and gender parity, with the age limit reduced to 18–25 years and women comprising nearly 50% of the membership.
Beyond election duties, the DG highlighted the institutional shift towards a "system-driven" force with strengthened internal discipline. He also noted Ansar's continuous role in national development and community welfare, emphasizing initiatives like the ‘Sanjibon Project’ for member microcredit and providing vocational training in modern professions to improve their livelihoods.
