State Minister Shama Obaed Islam Mourns for Bangladeshi Family Killed in Saudi Arabia Crash

State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam MP has expressed profound sorrow over the tragic deaths of three members of a Bangladeshi family in a road accident in Saudi Arabia.

The victims are originally from Saltha Upazila in Faridpur were killed on July 23 while traveling from Riyadh to the holy city of Mecca to perform Umrah.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs identified the deceased as Tania Tahmina Rina, 45 daughter of former Atghar Union Parishad Chairman Nazimuddin Mollah and her two children Tasbik, 20 and Zara, 15.

Rina's husband Shafiqul Islam is employed at a company in Riyadh and their eldest son Nabil survived the crash but sustained severe injuries.

In a formal condolence message on Friday State Minister prayed for the eternal peace of the departed souls and extended deep sympathy to the bereaved relatives. The Minister also wished a swift and full recovery for the injured survivors.

"May the Almighty grant the grieving family the strength and patience to bear this irreparable loss" the State Minister conveyed.

The tragic incident has cast a shadow of grief over the Bangladeshi expatriate community in Saudi Arabia and their relatives back home. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has assured its support for the victims' family during this difficult time.
