A high-level Bangladeshi delegation met with prominent Silicon Valley tech leaders in California to explore strategic opportunities in artificial intelligence, semiconductor design, cybersecurity and advanced manufacturing.
The Consulate General of Bangladesh in Los Angeles hosted the roundtable on September 27 at the Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley as according to a Foreign Ministry press release on Tuesday.
Prime Minister’s Adviser for Finance and Planning Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir led the Bangladeshi delegation. Other high-ranking officials included State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam, State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Boby Hajjaj and Prime Minister’s Adviser for Posts Telecommunications, IT and Science Rehan Asif Asad.
The discussion focused on boosting foreign investment with strengthening digital infrastructure, building tech skills, expanding venture capital networks and driving innovation in healthcare and earth observation.
Prominent tech figures attended the event including Replit founder and CEO Amjad Masad, Zscaler founder and CEO Jay Chaudhry, and former Intel chairman Omar Ishrak. CarMax CITO Shamim Mohammad moderated the roundtable.
The meeting highlighted Bangladesh's push to align its digital ecosystem with global industry standards, attract venture capital and build long-term partnerships with leading global technology firms.
