The government has taken comprehensive measures to help flood-affected families rebuild their lives following recent heavy rainfall and severe flooding, declared NGO Affairs Bureau Director General Dr. Mohammad Zakaria on Saturday.

Speaking during a relief distribution drive and inspection in Jaliaghata and Askaria Para under Banshkhali Municipality Dr. Zakaria emphasized that the administration is actively executing rehabilitation efforts under top-level directives.

To provide immediate economic relief to affected communities across heavily impacted areas of Chattogram, the government has ordered a three-month suspension on microcredit loan collections. Dr. Zakaria confirmed that all relevant microcredit institutions and field officials have received instructions from the Microcredit Regulatory Authority (MRA) to implement the directive immediately.

Local administration officials, political leaders, police officers and NGO representatives joined the inspection and relief operations. Prominent attendees included Chattogram South District BNP Joint Convener Mishkatul Islam Chowdhury Pappa, Senior Assistant Secretary Sharif Ahmed, Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Omar Sani Akon and Banshkhali Police Station Officer-in-Charge Rabiul Haque.
