CNG filling stations across the country will remain closed for six hours daily—from 3:00pm to 9:00pm—during Ramadan to ensure adequate gas supply for power generation during Iftar.
In a notice issued on Friday, the Energy and Mineral Resources Division said the revised schedule will take effect from the first day of Ramadan and continue until March 14.
Previously, CNG stations were closed for three hours, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. The extended downtime aims to address low gas pressure in the distribution network and ensure uninterrupted gas supply at peak demand hours.
However, from March 15 to March 25, CNG stations will remain open round the clock ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr to facilitate smooth passenger movement on highways.
From March 26, stations will revert to their usual schedule, closing daily from 6:00pm to 9:00pm, the notice added.
