Pabna native Ahsanuzzaman Taukir, a 27-year-old mountaineer, has achieved a historic feat by becoming the sixth Bangladeshi to successfully summit the highly technical 6,812-meter-high Ama Dablam in the Himalayas on November 4, at around 1:00 pm Nepal time.

Ama Dablam Mountain (6,812m), renowned globally for its steep ice walls, deep crevasses, and harsh weather. Abrarul Amin Arnab, another young climber from the mountaineering organization Rope Four. The expedition was conducted under the patronage and supervision of Rope Four.

Taukir began his adventurous expedition on October 12, reaching the base camp on October 22 to begin acclimatization. The original plan for a summit push on October 29 was thwarted by heavy snowfall that began on October 27.

Taukir stayed at Camp-1 (approx. 19,000 feet) during the snowfall but was forced to retreat to the base camp with his team and Sherpa leader on October 28 as the weather worsened. The heavy snowfall damaged the fixed ropes, making a new summit push impossible until a route was re-established, causing a five-day wait.

The summit bid resumed on November 2, Taukir reached Camp-1 that day and Camp-2 (19,685 feet) on November 3. Ignoring strong winds, heavy traffic on fixed ropes, and ice falls, he reached the 22,349-foot (6,812m) peak on November 4.

Taukir dedicated his successful expedition to special needs people worldwide, emphasizing that "all the lives that come to this world are strong." He called for greater humility, love, and help for dependent individuals. Taukir believes that "if dreams truly burn, even mountains bow down," and that "the limit is only in the mind, not in success." His next major goal is to summit Mount Everest in 2026, contingent upon securing the necessary sponsorship.

Taukir is an experienced climber with several impressive feats: First Bangladeshi to touch three six-thousand-meter peaks of Nepal (October last year): Labuche Peak (6,119m), Island Peak (6,165m), and Mera Peak (6,461m) in a 27-day expedition without Sherpa support. Prior Climbs (October 2023): Naga Arjun (5,076m) and Labuche Peak (6,119m).

Ahsanuzzaman Taukir is the son of Akram Hossain Sabu and Sultana Samia Parveen from Chatmohar Municipality Sadar, Pabna. He holds a Diploma in Electrical Engineering from Rajshahi Polytechnic Institute and a BSc in Triple E from Atish Dipankar Science and Technology University.
