After two consecutive increases, gold prices have dropped in Bangladesh’s domestic market. The Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has reduced the price by Tk 4,432 per bhori.
Under the new rate, the price of 22-carat gold is now set at Tk 2,47,977 per bhori (11.664 grams).
BAJUS announced the revised prices in a notification issued on Thursday (April 9). The updated rates remain effective today, Monday (April 13).
According to BAJUS, the adjustment reflects a decline in the price of pure gold in the local market, along with overall market conditions.
Previously, on Wednesday, gold prices rose by as much as Tk 6,590 per bhori. The latest revision marks a notable decrease.
BAJUS stated that the new prices will apply nationwide until further notice. Buyers must also pay a 5% VAT, which is collected by sellers and deposited into the government treasury.
