The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has increased the price of 22-carat gold in the local market amid ongoing global economic and geopolitical pressures.

According to the latest adjustment, the price of a 22-carat gold bhori (11.664 grams) has been increased by Tk 2,216, setting the new rate at Tk 2,50,193.

BAJUS announced the revised prices in a notification on Wednesday (April 15), stating that the new rates took effect from 10 am the same day. The updated prices remain applicable in the market on Sunday (April 19).

Officials said rising international gold prices have influenced the local market, leading to repeated price adjustments. So far this year, gold prices in Bangladesh have been changed 55 times.

Under the new rates, 21-carat gold is priced at Tk 2,38,820 per bhori, 18-carat at Tk 2,47,703 per bhori, and traditional gold at Tk 1,66,737 per bhori.

BAJUS last revised gold prices on April 9, when the price of 22-carat gold was reduced by Tk 4,432 and set at Tk 2,47,977 per bhori.
