Amid rising global market tensions, the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has increased gold prices by Tk 2,216 per bhori. The new rate for 22-carat gold is now fixed at Tk 250,193, effective immediately.
BAJUS announced the adjustment in a statement on Wednesday, April 15, citing a surge in the price of pure gold (tejabi gold) in the local market. This marks the 55th price revision in the country so far this year.
Under the new pricing structure, 21-carat gold will sell for Tk 238,820 per bhori, 18-carat gold for Tk 204,703, and gold sold through traditional methods for Tk 166,737.
Previously, on April 9, BAJUS had reduced the price of 22-carat gold to Tk 247,977. The latest hike reflects the ongoing volatility in both the domestic and international bullion markets.
