Abu Sufian MP Named Chittagong General Hospital President

Mohammad Abu Sufian, MP for Chittagong-9 has been appointed president of the 250-bed Chittagong General Hospital management committee.

The Health Services Division of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare confirmed the nomination in an official notification. Sufian currently also serves as vice-president of the Chittagong Medical College (CMC) Hospital management committee.

Dr. Md. Ekram Hossain, acting superintendent of Chittagong General Hospital, welcomed the new president and highlighted Sufian’s ongoing focus on upgrading local healthcare infrastructure since his election.

Under Sufian's initiative, the hospital recently launched ICU dialysis services and expanded its indoor and outdoor medical care by filling vacant doctor positions. Dr. Hossain noted that patients now receive most essential medicines free of charge and can access low-cost diagnostic tests directly through the hospital's internal management marking a significant step in developing Chittagong General into a fully equipped, comprehensive healthcare facility.
