The government has extended the deadline for Bangladeshi expatriates to correct their passport information to 31 December 2026. This six-month extension announced by the Ministry of Home Affairs aims to ensure uninterrupted passport services for citizens living abroad.
Under the new directive, expatriates who need to update personal details—such as their name, date of birth, or parents' names—can continue to apply for passport issuance or reissuance.
The previous deadline, initially set on 8 July 2025 expired on 30 June 2026. Deputy Secretary Mohammad Nuruzzaman signed the recent notification from the Expatriation-4 Wing authorizing the extension in the public interest.
