Death Toll Climbs to 41 Amid Severe Cloudbursts

The devastating floods in India's northeastern state of Assam have claimed 41 lives with 10 new fatalities reported over the past 24 hours. Regional authorities confirm the crisis has severely impacted over 700,000 residents across the state leaving three people still missing.

According to the State Disaster Management Authority, the latest casualties occurred across five districts. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma noted that extreme cloudbursts have triggered unprecedented flooding striking areas that have never experienced this level of disaster before.
