Bangladeshi-American Mahbubul Alam Tayyab is going to become the mayor of the city of Milborne, Pennsylvania, USA, unopposed. Two Bangladeshis are also going to become the mayor of the city councilors unopposed.

The results will be officially announced after November 4. Chittagong's son Tayyab won the city mayor's post in November 2021, becoming the first Bangladeshi-American mayor in the United States. After serving for four years, he has also become a candidate in the November 4 election. Since no one has sought nomination against him, he is going to be elected unopposed.

Two of the five councilor seats in this city are not being elected this time. Two of the remaining three are going to be elected unopposed, with Sayed Riyad (21), the son of Patenga in Chittagong, and Shahin Alam (35) of Naogaon. Another person named Kim Harper is also being elected unopposed in another seat.

Of the two seats not being voted for in this city councilman position, one is Salahuddin Mia of Chittagong and the other is Chris Beslis. After studying economics at the University of Chittagong, Mahabubul Alam Tayyab came to the United States in early 2000 and settled in Milborne Borough.

In addition to his studies, he was involved in various activities of Bangladeshis in Greater Philadelphia. He served as a councilman for 8 consecutive years before being elected mayor of Milborne City. After taking office as mayor, he renamed a part of Cellar Avenue in Milborne City as 'Bangladesh Avenue' in 2022. And the young Sayed Riyad, who is going to be a councilman, settled in the United States from Chittagong with his parents at the age of two. After graduating from Upper Derby High School, he studied mechanical engineering at Temple University. He is also involved in various community activities.

Shahin Alam, a son of Naogaon, graduated from the National University of Bangladesh and settled in Upper Derby, Pennsylvania in 2011. In addition to being involved in various community activities, he is also working as a manager in an organization.
