A doa mahfil and condolence meeting was held in Nageshwari, Kurigram, on the death of former 3-time Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia. The meeting was organized by Ward No. 9 of Kachakata Union of the upazila in the Shaulmari area on Monday (January 12) afternoon. The mahfil sought the forgiveness of the soul of the national leader Begum Khaleda Zia and prayers were offered for the peace, prosperity and restoration of democracy in the country and the nation.

The chief guests were Shamima Rahman Apon, wife of former member of the District Women's Party and BNP nominated candidate for Kurigram-1 constituency Alhaj Saifur Rahman Rana, special guest Roja, president of Bhurungamari Upazila Women's Party, Anisur Rahman Tola Bepari, former general secretary of Kedar Union BNP, Ukil Amin, senior vice-president of Ward No. 9 BNP of Kachakata Union and former UP member, Atiqur Rahman Atik, vice-president of Union Jubo Dal and many others.
