Stolen Car Worth Tk 40 Lakh Recovered in Chattogram One Arrested

The Double Mooring Model Police of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) arrested a professional car thief and recovered a stolen Nissan X-Trail.

According to police, the vehicle was stolen from the ground-floor parking lot of a building in the Agrabad CDA residential area on the night of February 26. The owner filed a complaint the following morning after the building's caretaker noticed the car was missing.

Following the complaint, a team from Double Mooring Model Police Station analyzed CCTV footage and used information technology to track the suspect. Police subsequently arrested 36-year-old Md. Simon in the Double Mooring area. While originally from Noakhali, Simon had been residing in a rented house in the city.

Based on information extracted during interrogation, police conducted a raid in the DC Park area under Sitakunda Police Station, where the stolen SUV was recovered.

Police confirmed that Simon is a habitual offender with prior theft charges. He has been produced before the court.
