CCC Mayor Dr. Shahadat Inaugurates Jamalkhan Beautification Project

Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain has inaugurated a major beautification project to transform Jamalkhan into a modern, aesthetic hub. The Mayor unveiled the project plaque during a ceremony at Jamalkhan intersection on Saturday afternoon.

Speaking as the chief guest, Dr. Shahadat highlighted Jamalkhan’s status as a center for education, culture, and history. "Our goal is to blend this area’s rich heritage with modern civic amenities. Once complete, Jamalkhan will serve as a model for the entire country," he stated.

Widening sidewalks for easier movement. Planting ornamental trees and installing "smart poles" with modern lighting. Installing murals and terracotta pieces depicting Chattogram’s history and the anti-British movement.

The Mayor urged citizens to take ownership of the city’s beauty. "Maintaining this facility depends on public awareness. We must ensure garbage is disposed of only in designated spots to keep the area pristine," he added.

The event was attended by former BNP Chattogram Metropolitan General Secretary Abul Hashem Bakkar, Chattogram Press Club President Jahidul Karim Kochi, and other senior officials and local dignitaries.
