


Gold prices in Bangladesh have reached a new high following a sharp increase announced by the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS). The price of the highest quality 22-carat gold has risen by Tk 4,374, bringing the cost of one bhori (11.664 grams) to Tk 2,65,414.
The new rates took effect from 10:30 am today, Saturday (February 28). According to a BAJUS statement, the adjustment reflects the rising price of pure gold in the local and international markets.

Gold prices in the domestic market have seen a rapid climb in recent years. After crossing the Tk 1 lakh mark in July 2023, prices reached Tk 1.5 lakh in February 2025 and hit the Tk 2 lakh milestone by October of the same year. In late January 2026, the price peaked at a record Tk 2,86,000 before stabilizing at the current levels.
