


An Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Training Centre was inaugurated in Phulbari upazila of Dinajpur on Monday.
The centre was opened at 11:30am on January 26 on the fifth floor of the Phulbari Upazila Administrative Building.
Faiz Ahmed Tayyab, special assistant to the chief adviser at the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, inaugurated the centre through a video conference. The programme was conducted on his behalf by Phulbari Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Ahmed Hasan.
Following the inauguration, a prayer was led by Eluari Union Parishad Chairman Maulana Nabiul Islam.
Several officials from the upazila administration attended the event, including Upazila Livestock Officer Dr Md Sarwar Hasan, Upazila Agriculture Officer Saif Abdullah Mostafin, Fisheries Officer Rasheda Akhter, Upazila Engineer Md Shafiqul Islam, Ansar and VDP Officer Shahara Khatun, and Upazila Project Officer Mizanur Rahman. Local businessman Shoaib Pappu and the construction contractor of the centre were also present.
The programme was moderated by Upazila ICT Officer Taslima Begum.
Speaking on the occasion, UNO Ahmed Hasan said the training centre aims to develop skilled human resources and create employment opportunities through ICT-based training. He said courses will be offered on computer basics, graphic design, office applications, and online freelancing.
