Major Reshuffle in Police Administration: 23 Senior Officers Transferred

The government has issued a major reshuffle within the Bangladesh Police, transferring and reassigning 23 high-ranking officers, including Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs) and senior officials.

The Ministry of Home Affairs announced the transfers and postings through four separate notifications issued on Wednesday (August 12).

According to one notification, Farida Yasmin, Additional DIG of Dhaka Highway Police, has been attached to the Barishal Range DIG Office as Additional DIG. Meanwhile, Meer Moddaher Hossain, Additional DIG of Highway Police, has been transferred and posted as Additional DIG at the Bangladesh Police Academy (BPA) in Sarada, Rajshahi.

In the same order, Highway Police Superintendent (Supernumerary Additional DIG) Mohammad Shahinur Alam Khan has been reassigned to Special Branch (SB) Dhaka; Highway Police Superintendent Md. Rezaul Karim to APBn; PBI Superintendent Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman to Highway Police; APBn Superintendent Dipak Jyoti Khisa to Highway Police; and RAB Additional DIG Md. Saleh Uddin to Highway Police as Additional DIG.

In a separate notification, Kushtia Superintendent of Police Mohammad Jasim Uddin has been transferred and appointed as the Superintendent of Police for Gazipur.

Furthermore, Gazipur Superintendent of Police Md. Sharif Uddin has been posted to the Highway Police; Sylhet Range DIG Office Superintendent of Police Md. Amirul Islam to Kushtia; Narayanganj Superintendent of Police Mohammad Mizanur Rahman Munshi to Highway Police; Khulna Superintendent of Police Mohammad Tajul Islam to APBn; and Police Staff College (Dhaka) Superintendent of Police Sarkar Omar Farooq to Khulna.

Additionally, two other notifications announced the transfers and new postings of 10 officers holding the ranks of DIG, Deputy Commissioner (DC), Superintendent of Police (SP), and Special Superintendent of Police across various units of Bangladesh Police.
