PSTU Regent Board Gets Three University Professors

Patuakhali Science and Technology University (PSTU), the highest policy-making body of which is its Regent Board, has appointed three professors from three universities as members of the board.

The appointees are Professor Dr Md Morshed Hasan Khan of the Department of Marketing at the University of Dhaka, Professor Dr Md Nurul Islam of the Department of Geography and Environment at Jahangirnagar University, and Professor Dr Mohammad Abu Zafar Khan of the Department of Dawah and Islamic Studies at Islamic University.

Tuesday (August 11), the information was disclosed in a notification signed by Md Shah Alam Siraj, Senior Assistant Secretary of the Science and Technology University Branch of the Ministry of Education

According to the notification, the President and Chancellor of the university appointed Professor Dr Md Morshed Hasan Khan, Professor Dr Md Nurul Islam and Professor Dr Mohammad Abu Zafar Khan as members of the university’s Regent Board for a three-year term in accordance with Sections 18(1)(cha) and 18(4) of the Patuakhali Science and Technology University Act, 2001.

Among the three academics, Professor Dr Md Morshed Hasan Khan is serving as the Secretary General of the central committee of the University Teachers’ Association of Bangladesh (UTAB).

Professor Dr Md Nurul Islam is the Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka Central University, while Professor Dr Mohammad Abu Zafar Khan is serving as the Vice-Chancellor of Islamic Arabic University.

PSTU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr S. M. Hemayet Jahan, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr A. B. M. Saiful Islam and Treasurer Professor Dr Md Atikur Rahman congratulated the three professors on their appointment as members of the Regent Board.
