


Police have arrested 10 individuals, including a suspected drug dealer during a 24-hour special anti-crime operation in the Morelganj upazila of Bagerhat.
The arrestees were presented before the Bagerhat district court on Tuesday afternoon.
According to Morelganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Mahmudur Rahman, the drive was conducted under the direct supervision of the Bagerhat District Superintendent of Police. The primary objective of the operation was to curb regional criminal activities with a specific focus on the local drug trade.
"Such operations will continue regularly to control crime and maintain law and order in the area," the OC stated.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Md. Masudur Rahman Mithu (Mahishpura), Md. Abu Taher Talukder (Kismat Jamua), Md. Shafiqur Rahman (Hartaki Tala), Md. Yunus Mollah (Bhatkhali), Zakir Khan and Siddiq Khan (Doni Joka), Md. Ajmal Sheikh also a suspected drug dealer Md. Rahat (Palerkhand), Nabin Howlader and Ibrahim Bepari (Uttar Saralia),
Local law enforcement remains on high alert, emphasizing zero tolerance toward drug peddling and associated criminal offenses in the upazila.
