Amid ongoing supply shortages, the capital is facing a fresh wave of severe gas crisis, causing immense hardship for city residents.

On Wednesday (August 12), dire scenes were witnessed across CNG filling stations in the capital. While several stations were forced to shut down operations, others saw long lines of vehicles queuing up in hopes of getting fuel.

At the same time, residential areas are experiencing extremely low gas pressure. In many neighborhoods, the pressure is too low to cook even when the burners are lit, leaving residents in significant distress.

Visits to several CNG stations across Malibagh, Tejgaon, Badda, Khilkhet, Uttara, and Mirpur revealed widespread gas shortages. Some stations were seen displaying signboards stating "No Gas Available."

Filling station workers reported that gas supply usually resumes slightly after midnight, though the pressure remains exceptionally low. However, by Wednesday afternoon, no supply had been received at many stations.

Although the situation showed slight signs of improvement last Friday and Saturday, supply dropped sharply again from Monday, leading to long queues of vehicles waiting for fuel at the stations.
