Football's veteran superstars took center stage in Friday’s UEFA Nations League action with Robert Lewandowski and Kevin De Bruyne putting on masterclasses while Bosnian icon Edin Dzeko played his final international match.

In League A, 35-year-old Kevin De Bruyne scored twice to power Belgium to a comfortable 3-0 victory over Turkey in Liege. De Bruyne opened the scoring early before curling home a brilliant second with Romelu Lukaku adding a late third.

Meanwhile the Zinedine Zidane’s debut as France head coach ended in a 1-1 draw against Italy at the Stade de France. Michael Olise put the hosts ahead with a stunning long-range strike but Alessandro Bastoni equalized for Italy midway through the second half. France still leads Group 1 with seven points followed by Belgium with six.

Over in League B the 38-year-old Robert Lewandowski bagged a hat-trick to lead Poland in a 6-0 thrashing of a 10-man Romania.

The night also marked an emotional farewell for 40-year-old Edin Dzeko who made his 152nd and final appearance for Bosnia-Herzegovina in a 1-1 draw against Sweden. Dzeko retired as his country's all-time top scorer with 73 goals, receiving a standing ovation and an honor guard as he walked off the pitch.

In other League B action, Northern Ireland claimed a convincing 3-0 win over Ukraine.
