


The Laxmipur district administration and municipality have launched a three-month special cleanliness and mosquito eradication drive to curb the spread of dengue in the region.
Organized jointly by local authorities and Laxmipur Sadar Hospital, the campaign involved municipal staff, health experts and community workers. Teams identified and cleared stagnant water sources also eliminated mosquito breeding grounds and sprayed larvicides in key vulnerable areas.
Medical officers participating in the drive including Sadar Hospital Resident Medical Officer Dr. Arup Pal and pediatrician Dr. Nasir Uddin, urged residents to stay vigilant. They advised households to regularly drain stagnant water from flower pots, discarded containers, coconut shells and construction sites.
Municipal authorities confirmed that anti-mosquito spraying, cleaning campaigns and public awareness programs will continue across different neighborhoods throughout the three-month period.
Emphasizing that administrative action alone cannot stop the disease, officials called on residents to maintain cleanliness in and around their homes also stressing that public cooperation is essential to keeping dengue under control.
