


Police arrested seven men on Monday morning in connection with a robbery at an under-construction factory in the Mirsarai Economic Zone, Chattogram. Following the arrests authorities recovered 250 meters of looted electrical wire based on information provided by the suspects.
The robbery occurred around 2:00 AM on Sunday. According to law enforcement, the gang overpowered the on-duty security guard with snatching three mobile phones before looting electrical wires and other valuable construction materials. The factory authorities subsequently filed a case with the local police station.
The arrestees were identified as Md. Rakib (21), Mehedi Hasan (23), Sujaul Haque alias Suja Ullah (24), Md. Sakhawat Hossain alias Nahid (24), Yusuf (26), Emdadul Haque alias Emran (28) and Mizan Uddin (32). All of the suspects are residents of various areas within Zorarganj.
Mohammad Abdul Halim, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Zorarganj Police Station, confirmed the development. He stated that a targeted raid in the National Special Economic Zone area led to the swift apprehension of the gang and the recovery of the stolen goods. The suspects remain in police custody as legal proceedings continue.
