Pakistan has named a 16-member squad for next month’s two-Test series in Bangladesh, with four uncapped players included as notable surprises.
The newcomers are Abdullah Fazal, Amad Butt, Azan Awais and Ghazi Ghori. Among them, only Ghori has limited international experience, having played an ODI in Mirpur last month.
The team will be led by Shan Masood. Several squad members — Awais, Imam-ul-Haq, Ghori, Noman Ali and Sajid Khan — are currently attending a red-ball conditioning camp at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore.
Players not involved in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) will join a training camp in Karachi from April 27, which will run until May 1. Those playing in the PSL will join after their commitments end. The team is scheduled to depart for Bangladesh on May 2, while players involved in the PSL final on May 3 will arrive later.
The two-Test series will begin on May 8 and May 16, with matches set to be played in Dhaka and Sylhet.
