Bangladesh finished the day at 338 for 1, powered by a massive, career-best innings from Mahmudul Hasan Joy.
The visitors' innings was wrapped up on the second morning, bowling them out for 286. Key contributors for Ireland were Stirling (60) and Carmichael (59), while Bangladesh's Mehidy Hasan Miraz claimed 3 for 50.
Mahmudul Hasan Joy's unbeaten innings of 169 (off 255 balls)* headlined Bangladesh's reply, making the Ireland bowlers look increasingly ineffective. Mahmudul added 168 runs for the first wicket with Shadman Islam, who scored a fluent 80 off 104 balls (nine fours, one six).
