Agriculture Minister Mohammad Amin Ur Rashid announced Monday that the government is compiling a list of farmers recently affected by crop damage in the Haor region. Speaking after the DC Conference at Osmani Memorial Auditorium, the Minister confirmed that victims will receive financial assistance starting from Tk 7,500, with the program spanning the next three months.

The conference also addressed the current potato crisis. District Administrators (DCs) raised concerns that while potato harvests reached record highs, inadequate storage and weak marketing systems have denied farmers fair prices. In response, Minister Rashid stated that the government is actively working to expand the potato market and boost international exports to stabilize domestic prices.

Regarding the upcoming sacrificial animal market, the Minister assured the public that there is a sufficient supply of cattle. While there is no significant surplus, he dismissed any risk of a market crisis and noted that cattle imports across the border are not expected.
