Two Infants Die with Measles Symptoms in Gazipur

Two children have died while undergoing treatment for measles-like symptoms at Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital (STAMCH) in Gazipur.

Dr. Md. Aminul Islam, Director of the hospital, confirmed the deaths on Monday (May 4) morning.

The deceased have been identified as nine-month-old Raiyan, son of Zakir Hossain from the Chandana Chowrasta area, and five-month-old Sifat, son of Khokon Mia from Sreepur Upazila’s Mauna area.

According to hospital authorities, both infants were admitted to the pediatric ward several days ago presenting classic symptoms of measles. They passed away within the last 24 hours while receiving medical care.
