


Md. Anis Ur Rahman, currently an Executive Director at Bangladesh Bank has been appointed as the central bank's new Deputy Governor for a three-year term.
The Financial Institutions Division of the Ministry of Finance issued an official gazette notification confirming the appointment on Monday, July 6. The directive signed by Senior Assistant Secretary Md. Shafi Ullah was made by order of the President under Article 10(4) of the Bangladesh Bank Order, 1972.
Rahman's three-year contractual appointment takes immediate effect from his date of joining. The promotion is strictly conditional upon his voluntary retirement from his current position as Executive Director and the suspension of his Post-Retirement Leave (PRL).
All other specific terms and conditions of his tenure will be finalized through a formal contractual agreement. The Ministry noted that the swift leadership appointment was made in the public interest.
