


The National Social Welfare Council distributed financial assistance to 49 patients with incurable diseases and 200 low-income families in Pabna Sadar on Monday morning.
The distribution ceremony, held at the Alhaj Ahed Ali Trust, provided vital support to patients suffering from six types of critical illnesses, including cancer and kidney disease. Each of the 49 patients received a cheque for Tk 50,000, totaling Tk 24.5 lakh. Additionally, 200 local families in need received Tk 10,000 each, amounting to a total distribution of Tk 20 lakh.
Pabna-5 MP Adv. Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas attended the event as the chief guest. Deputy Commissioner Aminul Islam and Superintendent of Police Sufi Ullah were present as special guests. A. Quader, Deputy Director of the Pabna Social Services Department, presided over the ceremony.
Akhinur Islam Remon, former general secretary of the Pabna Press Club, moderated the event. Several local BNP leaders, including KM Musa, A.S. Samad Khan Montu, Engineer Wares Uddin, and Hafizur Rahman Royal Biswas, also addressed the gathering.
